How do I get there?
The Hide Kapiti is located at 331 Maungakotukutu Road, on the stunning Kāpiti Coast – just a 45-minute drive from Wellington City.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-In: 2:00 PM
Check-Out: 11:00 AM
If you need to arrive or depart outside these times, just get in touch – we’ll do our best to accommodate.
What are the cooking facilities?
You’ll have a Weber BBQ for outdoor cooking and an induction cook top inside.
We provide all cookware, utensils, and pantry basics including:
Coffee, tea, sugar, and milk
Salt, pepper, and cooking oil.
What should we bring?
Please bring:
Your own food and beverages or order one of our delicious packages for ease
Warm clothing, bathers to use our outdoor bath or shower
Sturdy footwear for walking or exploring.
What are the bathroom facilities like?
The Hide Kapiti is completely off-grid. You'll have:
The whole property is powered by solar so we ask you to be mindful in not leaving anything running you are not using
A spacious hot shower
Fresh towels for both the shower and outdoor bath
Robes.
Is there mobile reception or WiFi?
Yes, but this is limited to service provider.
We provide WiFi, details will be provided when you arrive in the property.
There are multiple charging points for your devices.
Is there power?
Yes, the accommodation runs on solar power. Sunny days charge the system, while our battery bank stores energy for cloudy periods.
We kindly ask you to be mindful of energy use during your stay.
Can I bring pets?
While we love animals, The Hide Kapiti is located on a working sheep and beef farm, and pets are not permitted for safety and biosecurity reasons.
Can I book just one night?
Yes, although we highly recommend staying at least two nights to fully unwind and soak up the off-grid experience.
Who do you contact in case of an emergency?
Medical Emergency:
Please contact 111 for all medical emergencies, we also have a small emergency first aid pack stored inside the hide.
Property Emergency:
If there is an issue on site, the owners’ details will be provided when you arrive at site and you can call them to assist.
